Students are responsible for cleaning and organizing the common spaces of school, cook, clean up after themselves, and budget their personal expenses to name a few.
Hira School's instructional pedagogues are designed by focusing on developing entrepreneurial and leadership skill in all students. In Primary classes students are engaged in classroom jobs. To make it more meaningful, students are offered various opportunities to participate in a position of leadership within a broader spectrum of the school, from Grade 7 to 10.

The school begun as a preschool with an enrollment of 52 and expanded its population to 468 in 9 years from all the connected wards(islands) of Addu City.

The Quality Improvement Department (QID) of Ministry of Education of Maldives inspected the school's capacity for educating all children to high standards. The school secured those characteristics of effective schools. Hence, the school gained recognition for the high standards which were set on getting the best education and creating a lifelong passion for learning in school.
Effort To Be A Green And Echo School
Hira school has successfully implemented the “ban single use plastic” campaign initiated by the Ministry of Education. In this effort Hira School has become a totally single use plastic free zone for everyone.
